Why enter your wines into the International Wine Challenge?
Wine producers from around the world enter their wines to be judged by the International Wine Challenge because they trust the IWC to help their wines stand out on a global platform. At the IWC Awards, we interviewed some of the top ranking producers, importers and retailers in the competition to find out how important receiving an IWC Trophy can be for their business.

IWC 2019 Great Value Champion White
"The IWC competition can help catapult your wines onto the international stage, it increases awareness of your product to a global audience and helps drive sales as ...
...awards deliver added confidence to consumers, as winning a gold medal or trophy within your specific category places the wine on a pedestal which shouts “try me, I’m best in class”, so logically this drives trial. In addition to the outward benefit, for all employees within your own business it delivers a huge amount of pride and reward for the hard work that goes into making the wine, this filters down to all aspects of the business, from vineyard worker to winemakers, it’s a win-win!"
Luís Sottomayor
Winemaker, Sogrape Vinhos, Portugal

Alain Serveau
Winemaker, Maison Albert Bichot
“The IWC is a contest that we appreciate very much. Each year, we present a selection of our wines from Burgundy and have the pleasure of seeing them rewarded with numerous medals.
After winning 3 times the trophy of the best winemaker (twice for the red and once for the white) and also the trophies of the champion red and the champion white, we had the pleasure to receive last year the Len Evans Trophy which is a recognition of excellence and consistency in our wines.
At the beginning of the 2000s we decided to convert progressively our vineyards to organic viticulture. Then we decided to go further in this approach, and we obtained the organic Ecocert certification for our wines starting with 2018 vintage.
So for us, it seemed interesting to present a selection of our organic wines for the 2020 competition in order to confirm whether organic wines could
be considered with the same interest as non-organic wines.
We are very proud to see that all our organic wines have been awarded medals and that one of them even obtained the IWC Organic Trophy. This encourages us pursue our efforts to produce the best wines possible.”
